I love all your work, but this one is by far my most favorite of yours. You use certain elements a lot in your work: demons, wood, facial distortion/masks.. and in each one it means something different.
Here, what's nice is that you really provide an interesting environment. The strength in this is that, with the strange sky, you really get a feeling of isolation here - even though he's surrounded by all these little mischief-makers, making it difficult for him to understand where he is... he still feels very much alone.
The wood here is also very symbolic.. a dead game, feet which have no senses anymore (perhaps walking too long).. it's a nice touch.
Your rendering skills here are beautiful, each texture has its own touch to it, and I relish all the small details you put into the painting: the torn pocket, the green sleeve, the crumbling, empty skull, the sand.
Your work seems like you deal with personal struggles through the art you make, and it's lovely to see such humanity in it - you portray the things we all see, but rarely attempt to represent.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
